How much does ink cost, really?

DISCLAIMERS: The photos are of a yellow and a black cartridge, but i assure you, they are all like this. This company is still the best deal around.

Consider that when you purchase a name brand cartridge, you are overpaying for the name. Im guessing the substances used to manufacture the ink are pretty much the same. At Office Store you are going to pay around $30 for a single black cartridge that you might find here for $9. Thats a huge difference. So i wont complain much in that respect.

I will complain about the principle of selling a cartridge thats only half full. Or manufacturing a cartridge with a huge foam blotter pad thing to take up the space that could be used to hold the ink.

So really, how much cost would be incurred to fill the cartridge the remaining 2 cubic centimeters of ink? Or make a cartridge with the foam pad only as big as it needs to be AND fill the cartridge to the top? Maybe an additional 4 cc of ink.

The order re: above, but I received RC-00251XL instead. Do you want me to return the cartridges sent. I've ordered other color cartridges and they all were satisfactory.
