Fail: Neither Cartridge Worked - Nor Did "Service"

Received two cartridges: one had really bad streaks and no Red output, the other only had streaks. Both unusable. I noticed that the print heads on both were quite dirty, so I consulted the inkjets.com FAQ to learn how to clean them. The description in the FAQ was a bit ambiguous, so I sent an e-mail to Service asking for clarification. The first response missed the mark altogether and referred me to an FAQ for a totally different problem. I re-phrased my question and sent it back, and then received an answer consisting of a link to the original (ambiguous) FAQ with no further explanation. Gave up and consulted the HP Service site, which answered my question. Unfortunately, cleaning the print heads did not help either cartridge, so lesson learned: you get what you pay for...
